  • We offer industry-leading wages as well as comprehensive health insurance and benefits packages available after 90 consecutive days of work.
  • Today, and every day, we stand as a Smithfield Family to #ThankAFoodWorker. At Smithfield, we reward those who embrace Responsibility.
  • Production employees at Smithfield handle materials and use hand tools, knives, machinery, and equipment to help deliver good food responsibly to America’s dinner table.
  • Team members must be available to work scheduled hours, which may include mandatory overtime, depending upon production demands.

Our Mason City, Iowa plant was founded in 1977, spans 43 acres, and produces lunchmeat, semi-dry sausage and cook-in-water deli hams. More than 250 union employees help to ensure the successful operation of this plant, which produces more than 79 million pounds of pork products every year with 209 SKUs.

The Mason City plant actively gives back to the community with employees taking part in many volunteer efforts, including an annual blood drive at the plant, a United Way campaign, an Earth Day pick-up along local roads and regional food bank donations. With the dedicated team at this and other locations, Smithfield Foods can deliver on its promise to produce Good food. Responsibly. ®
